Trail Description

Boulder Track runs for 1.2 km and has an altitude variation of 65 metres. It is on the hill to the right hand side of the Stockyards car park.

Follow prominent route 9 markers. Track is single track with rock gardens and large boulders to negotiate and a number of sections with A and B lines. Start at uphill end (western end of trail).

There is a granite 'berm' known as the Clam just near Stockyard Trail which needs to be hit high and fast to maintain momentum through the berm to 'safe' ground on the other side. The trail fairies have been kind however and the Clam was made more user friendly during November 2010 with a better approach implemented and the previous boulder valley replaced by a rock garden entry with a number of steps now in the Clam's valley. Straight after the Clam are a series of step up boulders so keep pedalling!

One of my favourites at the You Yangs.

The Clam - hit high and fast

Once you climb the initial rock faces, there's a bit of a cruisy section.

Before you start hitting the berms.

Boulder drop off and rock garden.

Berms and another rock garden.

Boulder drop offs.

And more rocks...

Step down and more rock faces...

And more

Before getting spat out onto a boardwalk at the bottom.
